Windows 10 is the Most Recent Operating System from Microsoft. Windows 10 comes with plenty of new features and improvements. It seems like Microsoft is listening to its own users and creating changes in Windows 10 that were not liked in Windows 8 plus a lot more. The biggest news for us is that if you have purchased Windows 8 or 8.1 and want to update to Windows 10, this upgrade will be totally free of charge.

Let us discuss some of the features of Windows 10 and then go on into the download section.

Windows 10 new features

Let me list down some of the significant featured introduced in Windows 10 up till today. I am pretty certain that Microsoft will be adding more features to Windows 10 when the final version is published.

  1. Windows 10 comes with a fresh Start Menu. It is a mixture of Windows 7 style Start Menu and Windows 8 design Start Screen.
  2. There have been enormous improvements in touch UI especially the Continum which changes to the touch favorable UI if the keyboard is detached from the pc.
  3. The Modern interface was further incorporated into the Desktop. Now the modern apps will operate just like any other Desktop based app in a window or full screen if you want.
  4. Ultimately, the virtual desktops attribute was included in Windows 10. Now users can create different Desktop environments within the exact same account login.
  5. The Alt-Tab keyboard shortcut key now does not work like a job switcher. It opens up the job view where you are able to switch between opened programs in addition to your established virtual Desktops.
  6. The command prompt is getting keyboard shortcuts too!
  7. The Charms bar has disappeared in favour of a Settings menu under the Start Menu.
  8. Windows File Explorer Home folder has been enhanced.
  9. DirectX 12 is scheduled to be added into Windows

So long Media CenterWindows Media Center is no longer accessible with Windows 10, thus in the event that you want to use
Microsoft’s solutions you’ll have to opt for Windows 7 or 8.1 Pro. Here is some further information.

All versions of Windows 7 comprise Windows Media Center that’s a great way to watch and record terrestrial or satellite TV (in
combination with a TV tuner card), in addition to watching movies, viewing photographs and listening to audio. Windows 8.1 doesn’t
contain Media Center. It can be added to Windows 8.1 Pro just for a minimal charge by asking a product key on the Microsoft
website [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/feature-packs]. Adding Media Center to Windows 8.1 Pro also gives you the
capability to play DVD films. We recommend Windows 8.1 Guru for Media Center use rather than Windows 7 because it has more
features, faster performance and also will likely be better future-proofed. Please notice: The Media Center key cited earlier is
only compatible with the Pro version of Windows 8.1.

The hottest are MediaPortal [http://www.team-mediaportal.com/] and Kodi [http://kodi.tv/] (officially known as XBMC). Both
programs offer the facility to do precisely (and much more) exactly what Windows Media Center does, though some configuration is
necessary through plugins (add-ons) supplied by both MediaPortal and Kodi. Both pieces of software are available source so they’re
free for individual use and they can be used with any Windows operating system, even Windows 10.
